New Sleep Apnea & Snoring Service
Dr. Gelder is passionate about helping people who suffer from sleep disorders and recognizes the symptoms before they turn into serious consequences. Snoring is the most physically noticeable precursor to identifying a person with sleep apnea. It is important to realize that most people With sleep apnea will snore; however, not all snorers have sleep apnea. Snoring is defined as an obstruction in the airway that can cause loud sounds and vibrations. Unlike snoring, sleep apnea is caused by disruptions in the airflow that prevent a person from breathing periodically throughout the night. Sometimes a patient experiences several hundred such episodes a night. Consequently, sleep apnea can be identified through snoring, but it is a far more dangerous problem if left untreated. We can offer alternatives to CPAP's and surgery to help treat Sleep Apnea and Snoring.
"Where patients needs come first", means treating each patient as a unique person with unique needs, wants, and goals. Too often in medicine a "One Size Fits All" mentality is used. That is not how I approach you as a patient. To make my philosophy work you have to have a few basic principles that you work by. I have developed my "10 Promises" to let patients know what they can expect from me as their dentist. I also think it is important to know about the person that will have the responsibility of keeping your teeth healthy. I have created a short history about me and the office that can give you this information.
The best way for a dental practice to thrive is by having happy patients refer the people they know to our office. I have a special rewards program that is designed to benefit you and me - a "Win-Win" situation. Please read this to learn about the rewards that you can earn from just referring someone to my office.
Know Your Options
A complaint I often receive from new patients is their previous dentist never made them aware of what their out of pocket cost was going to be before treatment was begun and that they didn't know what options the patient had for payment. We want you to know all of this information beforehand, so I have a financial policy that clearly spells out and answers these types of questions.
Your First Appointment
To make your first appointment easier for you I have included all the forms you will need to fill out here at the top of the page. For all patients, except for children 13 years old and younger, you will need to fill out the patient registration, dental history, medical history, and financial policy forms. For children please fill out the patient registration and child dental history form. Please fill out a set of forms for each person who has an appointment. By filling these out before your appointment you will not feel rushed and we will be able to stay on time for yours and other patients appointments.
